Michael Birnbaum, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.E.

Dr. Birnbaum was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Brandeis University, he earned his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University, graduating cum laude.

Dr. Birnbaum completed both his internship and residency in OB/GYN at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He then served 2 years in the United States Navy as head of the Infertility Section of the Naval Hospital in Boston, where he also served as Chief of the Department on Obstetrics and Gynecology.

For over 25 years, Dr. Birnbaum has been in private practice specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility, Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Disorders. The many research projects he participated in over the years have focused on androgen disorders in women, and he has published numerous papers in medical literature relating to the disease now more commonly known as Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

As a result of his extensive work with androgen disorders such as PCOS and recognizing that many female hormone disorders manifest in persistent skin problems such as acne or hirsuitism, Dr. Birnbaum introduced the Breyer Medspa to his medical practice in 2006. The inclusion of laser aesthetics, in-office skin care treatments and medical grade products is a natural compliment to cosmetically correct the very same conditions he medically treats on a daily basis.

Becky Noone Ries has been working in the aesthetics and skincare field since 2001, under the supervision and training of plastic surgeons and healthcare practitioners. A licensed medical aesthetician from Magnolia School of Beauty and Wellness and accredited by the American Academy of Medical Aesthetics, Becky is skilled in performing medical facials, microdermabrasion, and epidermal peels including Vitalize and Illuminize. Her treatments are designed to treat acne, photo damage and aging skin.

Trained and certified by Cutera Laser Systems, Becky specializes in Laser Hair Removal and Titan Skin Tightening and Non-Surgical Facelift, as well as Laser Genesis, IPL, Vascular Therapy and Scar Reduction. Her extensive knowledge of skin, combined with practical application of aesthetic lasers, offers skilled assessment of appropriate and effective treatment options for unwanted hair growth, photo damage, wrinkles, rosacea, scarring and telengiectasia (spider veins).Becky is dedicated to continuing education. She regularly attends courses in laser aesthetics and seminars hosted by partners such as SkinCeuticals, Topix Pharmaceuticals and Skin Medica. She aims to keep current on skin care protocols and educated on medical-grade products for her patients.

Becky has extensive skin care experience in the field of Plastic Surgery, and is a member of the Society of Plastic Surgery Skin Care Specialists.

Nicole Panepinto, M.A, L.E

Nicole Panepinto has been a valuable and longstanding member of Dr. Birnbaum’s practice since 2000. Nicole began as a part-time intern, and her professionalism and ability to both learn and lead earned her a full time position as an M.A. upon her graduation from Delaware Valley Academy of Medical Assistants. After years of overseeing the clinical functions and establishing a credible reputation and valuable relationship with his patients, Nicole expanded her role within the practice, completing her training with the American Beauty Academy and becoming a licensed aesthetician in 2007. In addition to performing skin care treatments like microdermabrasion and chemical peels, Nicole has also been trained by Cutera Laser systems to perform Laser Hair Removal, IPL, Laser Genesis and Titan® Skin-Tightening.

Breyer Medspa is owned by Dr. Michael B. Birnbaum f.a.c.o.g., f.a.c.e., a leading physician in the Philadelphia area who serves as Medical Director. All procedures are physician directed.
